Welcome to Biology 

Welcome to A-level Biology, what a fantastic choice you have made and I am very excited to meet you in September. A-level Biology is a fascinating and rigorous subject to study and opens the door to a plethora of further studies and careers.  Previous students have gone on to study Zoology, Ecology, Medicine, Veterinary, Nursing, Physiotherapy and many more degrees.

We use practical and modelling to help develop your understanding and skills, and provide lots of support with the trickier concepts.  We also go on a field trip to The Wilderness at the end of Year 12 to try out your independent investigation planning skills.

The topics we cover range from the molecular level of biology to transport systems and modern genetic techniques.

As the bridging work suggests, I recommend that you review your GCSE Chemistry knowledge of chemical bonding in preparation for our first unit on Biological Molecules and enjoy immersing yourself in some biology content to help you tell me why you want to study biology, my favourite subject!
