Year 11 Trials

Each year, two sets of trial exams are conducted for students in year 11, and these are vital as markers to show students the progress that they are making towards their final exams in the summer.  They are also important 'practice' opportunities for students to fine-tune what revision techniques best suit their way of thinking.  These trials happen in December, and also March.

For the December trials, we tell students exactly what topics are in the papers, so that they can focus their revision efforts and have a realistic result based on the time they have invested preparing in their own time. However, for the final March trials, students simply have to revise all topics as they will do for the summer exams for real.

As colleges and sixth forms often ask us for the results of GCSE trials as part of any reference, it's important that students put in effort to get the best grade possible which will in turn, open doors for Further Education.

Next trials:

Wednesday 4th March - Calc paper 2 pm (for students not committed to enrichment)

Thursday 5th March - Non-Calc paper pm (all students)

Friday 6th March - Calc paper 1 am (all students)

Friday 7th March - Calc paper 2 pm (for those who missed Wednesday's sitting)

Students will need to be revising NOW in order to prepare for these upcoming trials, and then their revision will roll into a schedule of revision for the real exams in just a few weeks time.
