Welcome

The transition from GCSEs into A-Levels is about more than just subjects; it is about stepping into a setting that bridges the gap between structured schooling and the independence of university, apprenticeships, or a modern career.

At Dene Magna Sixth Form, we aim to give students the best of both worlds: academic excellence backed by an environment that treats young people like adults. Students achieve strong results across a wide range of subjects, enabling them to progress to ambitious destinations. This year, 98% of applicants secured places on their chosen university courses, including Medicine, Law, Engineering, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, Psychology, Environmental Science and Journalism. Others progressed to competitive apprenticeships, RAF pilot training and gap-year opportunities.

We focus on a culture that embodies the values of respect, courage and independence, and we believe these themes support our students to achieve academically and personally. They are encouraged to respect themselves and others, push themselves out of their comfort zones to excel, and develop maturity over their current studies and futures. A dedicated and experienced teaching and pastoral team supports the students through outstanding lessons, regular tutor sessions, timetabled quiet independent study, and a bespoke Academic Mentoring programme designed to create mature and confident leaners.

Beyond the classroom, Dene Magna students are exposed to a variety of extra and super curricular opportunities. We run weekly enrichment activities, offer subject focused and social trips, welcome industry and educational professionals in seminars, careers fairs and interviews, facilitate mentoring programmes with younger students, and have several leadership roles in our Student Council. These experiences are essential in developing Dene Magna students into world-ready, rounded individuals.

We are a family at Dene Magna Sixth Form, where students and staff alike love coming to study and work, and we look forward to welcoming you to our community!
