Pilates Beginners / Back Care: Tuesdays 6-7pm

Start Date: Tuesday 17th September

Cost: £50 (For 10 Weeks)

The Beginners/Back Care session is for people who haven’t done Pilates before or for those who have been advised to do it. The aim of these sessions is to improve posture, develop better balance, increase mobility of the spine and flexibility and strengthen core abdominal muscles. Good posture is very important for daily activities along with increased functional mobility that leads to strengthening weak imbalanced muscles in the abdominal region.

This is an exciting class for anyone who wants to ‘have a go’ and discover a whole new way of moving.  All this will lead to you gaining confidence in your back once again. Both men and women find great pleasure in the ‘feel good’ feeling this class offers.

Pilates Mat Work: Tuesdays 7-8pm

Start Date: Tuesday 17th September

Cost: £50 (For 10 Weeks)

The Mat work session closely follows the original Pilate’s moves and principles. It is a great workout that will help you change the way you look, the way you feel and the way you move. If you want a new body reshaped, rebalanced and realigned a stronger, longer, leaner more mobile body then this class is for you. We use various pieces of equipment that add variety and interest to each session.

The class is suitable for people who’ve done Pilates before through to advanced students through a layered teaching technique with many levels for each exercise.

Dance Fit: Wednesdays 6:30-7:30pm

Start Date: Wednesday 18th September

Cost: £4 per session

Dance Fit provides fun classes suitable for all ages and abilities, whether you want to learn how to dance, get fit or just have fun and meet new friends. The classes are available for adults to attend, enjoy and experience a complete full body workout in a friendly atmosphere. You will find all classes to be high in energy with added motivation coming from a passion for dance, fitness and great music!

The aim of DM Dance Fit is to create an environment in which people can exercise and improve their level of fitness, without focusing too much on the physical workout. The classes consist of a variety of energising routines which combine dance with aerobics. What sets them apart from a gym workout is the atmosphere of casual fun.  The classes focus on the enjoyment of sharing the music and steps along with others, therefore, creating both a friendly and sociable environment.

This is why many people describe the classes being more like a party than a workout i.e. exercising ‘in disguise’. DM Dance Fit classes are designed to be both enjoyable and a little challenging in order to achieve a rewarding and effective workout for all major muscle groups.

The routines alternate some simple but fast dance moves with slower steps to create an interval-training workout. In a single class you can burn hundreds of calories while toning muscles and having lots of fun! With increasingly hectic and busy lifestyles, many people find the classes are a perfect opportunity to combine a regular fitness routine while having fun with their friends, making new relationships and socialising.  Many have found that they have improved their personal confidence and fitness levels, while thoroughly enjoying the sense of community, experienced by attending the classes.  All of these benefits contribute to good health and happiness.

Ciao! My name is Rossella Rigattieri, I’m an Italian from Verona .

If you are interested in learning the language of the Bel Paese (the beautiful country), do join me at Dene Magna on Wednesday evenings. This course is for students who have never studied the language before or for those who studied Italian years ago and need to refresh the knowledge of the language.

The course will cover topics which will help you to get by when in Italy.  A variety of activities will be used such as songs, recipes and videos, together with activities for an insight into the Italian culture including a bit of slang and, of course, some food and drink.  I can’t promise to get  the sun and the blue sky, but some Limoncello and tiramisu will probably help feeling the Italian atmosphere.
