Our vibrant purpose-built library is a lovely space to come and work, relax or read in during the school day.  Our resources include books, eBooks, magazines and websites (updated monthly), Chromebooks, and a librarian eager to link students to the resources they are looking for.

We have a fantastic range of recreational reading, both fiction and non-fiction - with many brand-new titles and authors and older favourites.  Whether a keen reader, a reluctant reader, or a struggling reader, our Library has lots to offer students with reading for pleasure.  Many titles fit with the Accelerated Reader scheme used by the English department and have quizzes available: it is easy for students to see what level books are when they are choosing their reading either off the shelves or on Oliver (our library catalogue).

We offer a wide range of quality resources to support the curriculum and Shelf Help. This Reading Well mental health book collection has been chosen by young people and health experts and supplemented by a curated range of books on broader issues of interest, including academic, social and wellbeing support.

Oliver (the library catalogue) brings all our resources together and allows students (and staff) access online via the school quick links.  Accelerated Read and Wheelers eBook collection is fully integrated with this system, allowing students a one-stop browsing facility.  Through their library logins, students can also manage their loans, request books and create book reviews to share their thoughts on their reading with others.

The library staff facilitate various activities to promote reading and book discussion independently and in collaboration with other departments and staff.  Key highlights include running book clubs and book sales, arranging author visits, and creating visual displays and competitions.
